How to Respond to the TMBC Draft Plan

We have produced a template letter and guide for responding to the TMBC Online Consultation Form.

You can respond either in writing (using the Letter Template) or by completing the Online Form or both if you have the time.

9th December Update: We are aware that the Online Consultation Form is not working properly for many users and is extremely complicated. Our advice therefore is to write in using our letter template (see below). This can be sent by email or post.

Responses must be received by the Council by 2 January 2026. Our advice is to respond no later than 20 December 2025 in order to ensure that the Council receive your response(s) by the deadline.

The number of responses is crucially important! Please ask all adults in your household to complete at least one response each.

Respond by Letter or Email (Strongly Preferable)

Use this Letter Template as the basis of a letter or email, which you can send either by email to localplan@tmbc.gov.uk or post to Local Plan Consultation, Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, Gibson Building, Gibson Drive, King's Hill, Kent, ME19 4LZ

Follow the Guidance in our How to Use Web Questionnaire guide to respond to the TMBC Online Consultation Form.

Please personalise the start of the letter or email and ensure that your name and address appear at the end.

Feel free to add additional points or customise what we have provided - it's a guide and a personal touch will be helpful!
